Arbor Day Foundation www.arborday.com The Arbor Day Foundation is committed to teaching, and advocating for trees. A 501 (c) 3 nonprofit, the foundation teaches, coordinates volunteer efforts, and had a tremendous number of outstanding resources. They have an exceptional number of resources for picking trees, maintenance and care, and more. Colorado State University Colorado Master Gardener Program Pruning Cuts Notes Microsoft Word - 613-PruningCuts.doc (colostate.edu) This handout, available for free online is an exceptional guide to all things pruning. If you're interested in tackling your own projects, this guide is a great learning resource. One Tree Planted One Tree Planted | Tree Planting Non-Profit: One Dollar, One Tree Wee love this 501 (c) 3 nonprofit and their mission, to educate and spearhead the replanting of trees around the world. Their tree facts are especially shocking. National Geographic Society Timber Resources | National Geographic Society While not dedicated exclusively to tree care, these articles are fantastic educational tools - and they're geared towards grades 3 through 12. If you're setting out to rejuvenate your property and teach your kids about the importance of trees, this is a great place to start. The Nature Conservancy The Nature Conservancy: A World Where People & Nature Thrive The Nature Conservancy is dedicated to education, climate change awareness, and reforestation efforts, among others. We appreciate their take on trees, and have learned a lot from their reports and data. International Society of Arboriculture Welcome (isa-arbor.com) The ISA is arguably the leader in credentialing, and provided resources to the arborist community in the U.S. Tree Canada Resources – Tree Canada Our friends to the north know how important trees are - and they spend a lot of time protecting them, just as we do.
