Mill Creek Tree Care

Tree Trimming

Think of trimming as the "big brother" to pruning. Trimming is the select and deliberate removal of large, damaged, or overgrown branches from trees.

Trimming has a few benefits. One, it increases the beauty of your yard, increases views from windows and porches, and enhances the space you live and work in. But it’s also generally good for the trees. Many trees become increasingly overgrown. Some larger trees will develop overgrown branches, which can ultimately sag and cause cracking along the tree trunk. In some cases, if untreated, this can destroy your tree.

This in turn creates both safety risks, and may result in the need for an entire tree removal. Don’t let your trees get to this point, and instead call us to professionally trim your trees. Best of all, we’re trained to trim in a manner which prolongs tree life – and we’ll haul all the refuse away for responsible disposal. Schedule today.

There are a variety of instances when tree trimming is advisable. Tree trimming is about aesthetics, but it’s also about safety. Though a tree may not fall, damaging structures and potentially injuring people – branches or limbs still pose a risk. It is critical that these dangerous branches or tree limbs be removed. We recommend hiring a tree trimming service to tackle this task, because oftentimes these questionable limbs and branches are located dozens, even hundreds of feet up a tree. So what types of things should you be looking for to determine whether or not you need a tree trimming service?
  • Damaged branches. This is the easiest way to determine whether or not you need tree trimming services. If you can visibly see broken, damaged, cracked, or otherwise injured branches, it’s time to give us a call. These branches are generally hours or days away from completely separating from the tree or trunk, and could fall on you, your home, or other property nearby. Call us immediately to take care of this issue, and minimize the risk.
  • After storms. Storms in the Pacific Northwest can be brutal. Luckily, our trees have withstood the worst Mother Nature can throw at them. But even though your trees may stay standing after a storm, there may be damage to limbs and branches. If you see damage, call us right away and we’ll remove the damaged limbs. If you suspect damage, call us and we’ll have a look – and can take care of other work while we’re at your property.
  • When Branches are above your home. If branches continue to grow, and you find that they now extend above your home, we recommend hiring a tree service company to remove them. These branches pose a number of risks – and its best to minimize the danger (and inconvenience) entirely before it becomes problematic. Large tree branches, in the worst case, can fall on your home and could cause damage to roofs, skylights, decks and railings, gutters, chimneys, and more. If a branch does come down, removing it from your roof can be challenging – especially if your roof is covered in debris. Don’t let it get to this point. Even if a tree doesn’t come down, a branch may be sprinkling debris on your roof – causing it to age faster and potentially creating other issues. Pine needles, for instance, can wreak havoc on some roof types. Excess rain, falling from tree branches, may cause issues. The combination of pine needles, leaves and debris, and rain could lead to clogged gutters and even water damage – an issue you don’t want to deal with. Plus, water slowly, constantly dripping from branches above your roof could cause excess moss and even mold growth. Should this occur, you also run this risk of moss coming loose and finding its way into your gutters. Avoid all of this by having a tree trimming service remove branches dangling above your home and deck.

We also do it all. After safely removing your tree, we’ll grind the stump down so your yard looks great, and you can reclaim your space. Schedule an assessment today for a quote. After our next storm, you’ll be really glad you did.
